Gerald T. Frentz:
Currently a 5th Degree Black Belt with the American Taekwondo Association, Gerald is an ATA-certified Chief Instructor and a Regional Chief Tournament Judge. His Taekwondo training began in the ATA system in September of 1991. Traveling around the USA, Gerald has received instruction from over 20 of the ATA's school of nationwide. He has participated in detailed training sessions, leadership seminars, and full "Instructor Certification" process with the senior and Master Instructors from ATA headquarters. As a tournament competitor, Gerald has ranked in Taekwondo "Top 10" in the World five times in the past 8 years. He has been ranked third in the US in the past two years of Weapons competitions.
Gerald's instructor certifications include not only Taekwondo, but he is also an Instructor trainer for new students entering the Instructor system, and a tournament judging trainer for Black Belts who evaulate other students at competitions. Gerald holds certifications in the Sexual Harassment Assualt and Rape Prevention (SHARP) course for women, the Defensive Tactics and Pressue Point Control courses for security and Law Enforcement personnel, Tai Chi, and the Ground Fighting and Spontaneous Knife Defense courses for street self defense. Gerald teaches, competes, and judges the Ssahng Jeol Bong (Nunchakas), Bahng Mahng Ee (Fighting Stick), Sam Dan Bong, Je Pahng Ee, and Jahng Bong (Long Staff) traditional martial arts weapons. As part of his instructor duties, he maintains CPR and First Aid certifications, and has participated in the Boy Scouts Youth Protection and Child Abuse Awareness Program. he was born and reared in southern California, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, and earned his Master of Engineering Degree at Texas A&M.
N. Carol Frentz:
Currently a 4th Degree Black Belt with the ATA, Carol is also an ATA-certified Head Instructor and National Tournament Judge. She began Taekwondo training in September of 1993. She has been ranked as high as 5th in the World Taekwondo competitions. Carol is a graduate of the ATA's University program of Instructor Preparation for School Ownership and Management. While her specialty is teaching the Tiny Tigers (Ages 3-6), she has also been certified by the ATA to teach the Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) course for executive self defense, as well as the SHARP course for women. She holds certifications and teaches courses in Tai Chi, Ground Fighting, and Ssahng Jeol Bong (Nunchakas), Jahng Bong, and Bahng Mahng Ee (Fighting Stick). As part of her instructor duties, she maintains CPR and First Aid certifications and has participated in Boy Scouts Youth Protection and Child Abuse Awareness program. Carol was born in Huntsville, Alabama and received her Bachelor Degree from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She is the President of Katy ATA, Inc. and is currently the Past President of the Katy chapter of Rotary International.
Chris Frentz:
Currently a 4th degree black belt, Chris has been training since the age of 7 when he began his taekwondo career in Concord, CA. His accomplishments include Regional Junior Trainee Instructor of the year, 3rd place in weapons in the world, and State Champion in sparring. Chris, a national certified instructor, graduated from Baylor University and is now employed by Technip.
Angie Stubler:
Angie started taekwondo at age 9. She is a 2 time World Champion in forms in 2000 and 2005. At age 18 she successfully tested and promoted to 4th degree black belt at a national testing in Las Vegas, NV. Later that year, she attended a regional camp and qualified for her national instructor certification. Angie's regional awards include Regional Trainee of the Year in 2005. She is now enrolled at Texas A&M University and continues her training in College Station.
Taryn Nida:
Taryn also began her training at an early age and was able to promote through the ranks despite having to move frequently. Fortunately, the ATA teaches the same curriculum world wide and she was able to complete her training for Black Belt and national instructor certification. Taryn, an accomplished artist, is also a 2-time finalist in art at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo. She recently tested and promoted to 4th degree black belt in June 2006, and is a student at the University of Texas in Austin.
Russell Borgman:
Russell began his training as an adult after his daughter made black belt. He is a 3rd degree black belt, certified instructor, and National Weapons Champion in 2005. Russell works for Conoco Phillips and is Katy ATA's leader in the tiny tiger program.
